Afzelia Environmental Consultants (Pty) Ltd has been appointed by CIM Chemicals to submit an application in terms of Section 24 (G) of the National Environmental Management Act (NEMA) (Act No. 107 of 1998, as amended).
CIM Chemicals intend to submit a NEMA Section 24(G) application applying for the ‘Regularisation of the Unlawful Commencement of a Listed Activity in terms of NEMA Section 24(G),’ as per the requirements of the NEMA Regulations Environmental Impact Assessment Regulations under the sub-regulations of GNR 327 Listing Notice 1, relating to the Procedure to be Followed and Criteria to be Considered when Determining an Appropriate Fine in terms of Section 24G.
The purpose of this document is to (i) inform the public and Interested and Affected Parties (I&AP’s) about the proposed project, (ii) share information about the proposed project which will be of relevance to the potentially affected parties, and (iii) give I&AP’s an opportunity to register and comment. All of the comments received will be included in the final reports that are submitted to the Competent Authority (CA). All I&AP’s are hereby invited to register their interest and submit initial comments on any aspect of the project.
